Englewood, NJ – September 23, 2024 – NVE Bank is proud to announce the distribution of $50,000 in grant funds to twelve local organizations, furthering its commitment to supporting the communities it serves. The grant recipients, located throughout Northern New Jersey, include both nonprofit and small businesses. The grants were secured through the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY) to provide crucial financial assistance to deserving organizations.
The 2024 grant recipients are: Bergen Performing Arts Center (Englewood), Blue Akai (Englewood), Englewood Historical Society, Acipnura Fine Foods (Closter), Ward Stores (Closter), Ain’t Misbehaving Dog Training (Cresskill), B. Saverino / Chicken Delight (Hillsdale), Aikido (Teaneck), T.J. “For over 137 years, NVE Bank has been dedicated to helping the areas we serve thrive. These grants are an essential part of our mission to give back to the community,” said Robert Rey, President of NVE Bank. “Supporting both nonprofit and small businesses ensures the continued success of our communities.”
Gordon Johnson, New Jersey State Senator for the 37th Legislative District, praised NVE’s efforts: “NVE has been here a very long time in the city of Englewood, and for years and years has been an integral part of making people’s lives better in this region, not just Englewood, but in the region.”
Dr. Nelson Reynos, President of the Spanish American Cultural Association in Bergenfield, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We are delighted to have received the award. And what we do with the award is we give out awards to recipients, students at Bergenfield High School that have studied four years of language, Spanish. And the goal is to try to promote the culture and to assist students, especially students who don’t have the means to go to college, to be able to afford it, especially, as you know, now with college education being so expensive.”
The Englewood Historical Society will use their grant for ongoing restoration work on the historic Englewood House. “This project is the biggest we’ve ever undertaken,” said a representative. “Thanks to NVE Bank, we’re able to continue the important work of preserving our local history.”
